(JollofNews) – State prosecutors in the Gambia have filed criminal charges against two men alleged to have played an instrumental role in the murder of former ruling party MP and his colleague accused of plotting to overthrow the previous regime of Yahya Jammeh.
Bubacarr Jarju and Swandi Camara are said to have sometime in April 2003 abducted and facilitated the murder of former APRC MP for Kiang East Mahawa Cham and Sulayman Ndow.
The men were also accused of receiving D400,000 in Brikama and other places from one Yankuba Darboe to purchase arms in exchange for the release of Mr Cham and Ndow.
Jarju of Kiang Nema and Camara of Brikama have pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody by Magistrate Isatou Janneh-Njie of the Banjul court.
The case continues.
